I love helping parents think of activities to help their struggling children learn. Break down the complicated process of learning into clear, simple activities we can do at home.

After graduating from Vanderbilt University, a top teaching program, I taught in a public school in rural Nashville and an high performance charter school in the heart of NYC. The joy of seeing a struggling reader rapidly grow several levels to catch up or exceed grade level expectations is hard to beat. Seeing a student grow in writing or math was one of the most fulfilling parts of being a teacher who believed all students could grow.

As a parent of three small, active wonders, I continue learning about how they see the world and how they learn best. As with all children, please remember each child is different and that my suggestions may not be the best fit for every child. These posts merely highlight what I have found to work for me as a teacher and a mommy.
